Letter from the President
Founded in 1919 with the mandate of producing and manufacturing Dextran and Dextran derivatives, Pharmachem Corporation has remained true to its mission for over 85 years. Located in Bethlehem PA, Pharmachem is the premier USA-based manufacturer of Dextran. The customer list includes such prestigious companies as Kodak, Ciba Secialty Chemicals, and many others.
The substantial investment in research and development has served not only the interests of Pharmachem but also of the industry as a whole. For example, xanthan gum was actually created in our laboratories and the rights were sold. It was determined at the time to remain true to our original mission of solely producing dextran.
As we approach 2007, PharmaChem's development efforts are centered around delivering cost-effective "virtually alcohol-free" Dextran. Such efforts enhance not only our reputation but the safety of all associated with our industry. We look to the future with great anticipation of serving our existing clients and assisting new ones.
